- Astraea Transporter Room -

Captain Taggart held his bag and looked at Captain Laurens, "Thank you for the ride and the training Captain, I look forward to seeing you again very soon." He held out a hand to shake, their goodbyes said much earlier in private.

Abigail nodded slightly, taking his hand and offering a small smile. "Of course Captain Taggart," she said quietly before turning toward the Transporter Officer. "Prepare to transport on Captain Taggart's command."

"Aye, Ma'am."

Dirk smiled and winked at the Captain before disappearing from her view, his new ship, his command, Pennsylvania awaited him.

-Bridge Pennsylvania-

"Pennsylvania this is Captain Dirk Taggart, Permission to beam aboard?" The captain asked. He was apprehensive and a bit nervous about meeting the crew, but did his best to hide it.

Simon Sat at the Ops Station as the call came through, " Major, we have a request from a Captain Taggert to beam aboard," as he swung his chair around to face Pennsylvania's XO, as he wondered why the captain was being replaced after what had happened earlier in the shift.

"Let the Captain know I will meet him in the Transporter room One," she said.

"Aye Sir," replied Simon as he opened the channel, He said "Pennsylvania to Captain Taggert, Major Griffiths will meet you in Transporter One," as he knew that now he was going to have to work twice as hard to show the new CO what he could do and improve his chances of a promotion.

"Roger that" Captain Taggart replied sternly

With that Griffiths left the bridge grumbling about tight-lipped Admirals and the only thing they were good for, but she was a Marine and thus trained to do her duty regardless of her feelings.

LCMD Rouni heard the call of the new CO beaming over she held the Pemm Sylvania steady and waited. She knew all questions would be answered soon.

Vespa had questions. Vespa had concerns. Vespa also really really liked meeting new people. Her twin forms waited by the science station, her excitement over meeting a new potential friend slightly outpacing her desire for answers. Mostly because she knew that her quest for answers could easily be snuffed, while her quest to meet someone new was literally inevitable.

- Transporter Room One -

She made it there in good time with an enlisted crewmember and straightened her tunic and looked over to the transporter Operator "Energize" she said and the transporter beam activated and shortly a figure began to materialize in the matter stream and then it was over and standing before her was her new Commander. She stepped forward and smartly saluted "Welcome to Pennsylvania Captain, permission to come aboard granted and I am authorised to hand over command to you," she said not really sure of the protocol, it was her first time after all "I am Major Naomi Sylani Griffiths your First Officer and welcome to the DQ Sir," she said lowering her arm "the rating here will take your bags to your quarters" she added.

Taggart returned the salute as he stepped off of the transporter, he'd already reviewed the command team's files but was surprised to see the Firat Officer Immediately hand over command. "Thank you, Major, for the welcome, my orders specifically state to speak with Admiral Rochelli before assuming control. If you would, please walk with me to the Admiral's Quarters and we can talk along the way."

"Yes Sir, Apologies my First time as First Officer" she responded blushing slightly as the rating took the Captains bags "put them in the Captain's quarters," she said to the rating who simply nodded and left them. "I do not know if you have met the Admiral Captain, but she is, well let me just say I like her and leave it at that," she said smiling as she led the Captain from the transporter room and to the CRR.

The Captain nodded in acknowledgement to the First Officer, "What's the status of the crew and their morale? I feel like I walked into a noisy room that just went quiet and I want to get the pulse of things here."

"The crew that was on the bridge at the time are both puzzled and worried, I have already had to field questions as to why Captain Kamar was arrested, that question will come back at a later date as it is irrelevant to this conversation," she said with a smile as they left the transporter room and headed to the nearest turbo lift.

"As for the rest of the Morale, you know what scuttlebutt is like Sir, I would assess their current situation as shaken up and rumours do not help as what will start with a small fact will bloom into exaggeration over time, but it would be advisable to do a ship-wide at your convenience as to the current events, if only for morale. Also, there is a question of Captain Kamar's wife understandably she is worried more than the rest she is also the CEO on the ship, as for the feeling you had Captain look at it from the crew's viewpoint a couple of missions in and the current Captain is arrested without reason taken off the bridge of an active starship in an area that is not exactly safe to linger, the only reason nothing happened beyond the arrest was the fact there was more than one ship in the area. Also, I hate to say this Captain your new command is practically falling to pieces, we got into a scrap a while back and we do not have the spares to repair, as it is it took us a month or so to get her to Tabula Rasa as we had to use low warp" Griffith's responded.

"Thank you for your honest assessment Major, I pray in the future that you continue to do so. I cannot speak on the former Captain's status yet, I understand there is scuttlebutt and that will be addressed post haste." Dirk rubbed his clean shaved chin for a moment, "What's this business about the engines?"

"Not being engineering orientated Sir," she said then said in a comical tone trying to lighten the mood a bit "Big fight, lots of damage some enemy ship losses, we got banged up pretty good, engines hit the CEO repaired what she could and to top it off the base at the gate where we arrived was attacked there are not enough spares, if this ship was a mortally wounded pet I would put it down Sir, but if the new ships can spare some replacement parts it will help"

Dirk nodded, "I appreciate your information Major, it appears that some if this was not included in my briefing packet. I will speak with the CEO and determine how we need to proceed. I hope they didn't give me a lemon," he said with a laugh as they arrived at the ready room.

- Ready Room -

Captain Taggart stepped onto the Bridge on his way to the Ready Room, his ready room with Admiral Rochelli and the rest of the senior officers, he was moments away from taking command of his ship. The Admiral had discussed the senior crew and their skillsets. Dirk was confident of their ability to do their job, but would they feel the same about him?

Shri'Rao stood when she saw the new Captain. She wanted to be in the transporter room when he beamed aboard but was instructed to wait here and debrief the Admiral on her section.

Griffiths entered the CRR behind the new Commander and moved out of the range of the sensors so the doors would close and she stood back and remained silent.

LCMD Rouni stood as the Turbo Lift doors opened. "Captain on the Bridge." As Captain Taggart stepped off the turbo lift. She stood by waiting for Captain Taggart to enter the CRR. Rouni followed Captain Taggert into the CRR>

The twin forms of Vespa Kale stood as the call to order was made. Similar enough to when a starship overseer came onto the bridge, but Vespa snapped a little more sharply as she noticed everyone else doing the same. To an unfamiliar observer, Vespa was just twins that moved all too much in sync. To someone who had been through the Pathstone, had seen their work, and had seen their people... she was a Dalacari.

Captain Taggart motioned to the bridge crew, "At ease everyone, I appreciate the gesture, but I'm not officially the captain yet, I will be once I meet the Admiral," he said and pointed to the ready room. "I do look forward to meeting all of you shortly, but duty calls at the moment," Taggart said as he exited the bridge and entered the Ready Room.

And that was that, to the Dalacari. He'd be meeting with them all. She returned to her task at hand, which at the moment consisted of the very important "Look Busy" and "Keep Your Heads Down" techniques.

The door to the ready room opened and Cordelia stepped out, offering a nod toward Taggart. "Captain, I've been expecting you, if you wouldn't mind?" she asked, motioning toward the room behind her.


-Bridge-

Captain Taggart exited the Ready Room preceded by the Admiral and followed by Major Griffiths. He stood expectantly as the Admiral prepared to speak.

With the discussion over, Cordelia stood next to Taggart on the bridge and motioned toward the centre chair. "Congratulations Captain Taggart, and welcome to the USS Pennsylvania. I officially leave you in command. Good luck and God speed. Now, if you would be so kind as to notify the Transporter Room that I will be departing for Tabula Rasa shortly it would be greatly appreciated.

Dirk stepped towards the centre chair, he straightened his uniform as he gave his first command as a Commanding Officer, "Engineering, prepare the transporter room for the Admiral and her officers. Fair winds and following seas, Admiral."

"Engineering here, Lt. Cmdr. Kamar sir, understood. Transporter room ready to beam down the Admiral," Arianna said sadly.

"Good luck and God speed Captain Taggart." With a slight nod, Cordelia turned on her heel and headed for the turbolift, her security team falling into step behind her.

Rouni Stood, "Captain I am LCMD Deanna Rouni your 2XO and CFO. I am awaiting your orders. ANd Welcome aboard the Pennsylvania Sir."

"Thank you Commander Rouni, I know you're all anxious for orders and for things to settle down. As of 1600, I am enacting a 48-hour shore leave for all personnel. This will give me a chance to review your recent mission logs and get a feel for everything going on here. I would also like to meet with each of you individually. I will not be participating in the shore leave so feel free to schedule a time and visit me in the Ready Room. I plan on conducting Department Inspections once we are underway. Are there any questions?" Dirk asked the bridge crew.

Simon sat at his station and tapped the commands into his console alerting the transporter Room that the Admiral was on her way down, Simon said, "I am Lieutenant Jg Simon Hunter, your Chief Operations Officer and will have a full inventory list on your desk within the hour Sir," as he sent messages to his staff for a complete stocktake of everything that was now available on the ship.

One of the twins at the science station turned to face the new official Captain, followed shortly by the other twin. "Welcome aboard Captain, officially." one of them spoke, while the other just stood attentive of the situation. "Lieutenant Vespa Kale, I'm an officer by arrangement with my government. I'm a Dalacari, a native of..." and she stopped talking, just up and done.

Her twin picked up the tab flawlessly, "... the Delta Quadrant, and at the moment, acting Science Assistant. I'll have the labs ready for an inspection within the hour, and a report on our readiness..." and it happened again. It was a good thing the pair were standing next to one another, otherwise, it'd strain the neck.

"... ready for your review. And, I'm looking forward to meeting with you." and the pair fell silent. Relaxed. It was the actual end of the dialogue.

"I am Lieutenant Shri'Rao Sh'veqan Chief Security Officer, Ship is secure, Sir." The Andorian said by way of introduction.

Dirk nodded as each officer introduced themselves, "Thank you all for the welcome, I look forward to meeting each of you individually. Now then let's set the in-port watch and prepare for shore leave."
