Jane could sleep. There was no helping it. She knew now exactly what the doctor was talking about. She was exhausted and her body simply wanted to throw in the towel. But her mind was like a trapped creature running in anxious circles. She kept hearing things in her office. Of course there was nothing in there except maybe the occasional security officer coming by to check things out. Jane gave up on the idea of sleep. She slipped into a pair of her jeans and a plain t-shirt. Instead of shoes though she slipped on her fleshly cleaned fluffy white bunny slippers. their plastic googley eyes helped to ease the despair that ate at the edges of her usually optimistic nature. "This just simply wont do." She told herself going to her closet she took out her guitar and headed out to the lounge. She hadn't gone and bothered that manager in a while. No better time then the present.

She entered the lounge and with a wave to the manager she grabbed a chair and drug it over to the large window. Her fingers strummed the strings mindlessly at first as she watched the universe slip away behind the force field. They soon found a tune and picked away at it a little drawing her concentration away from her many troubles.

Next thing she knew she was singing along her foot bouncing a little as she was further seduced by the melody. The tightness in her chest lighted a little in her play. Playing reminded her of the hours in practice just her and her mother and the music. There had even at times been laughter. She moved from GarthBrooks,'River' into a Dolly Parton song with a little more zip to it 'Nine to five'. Coffee saw her through till the next shift change. She promised herself a nap later maybe while over at Wolfy's. He wouldn't mind. Or better yet go get something from the doctor. That would be some rich irony seeing as she knew a million ways to get to sleep. the problem was she didn't want to sleep. Which of course was a big problem all its own. She started to play "put the lime in the coconut" and sing when the lounge manager brought her a drink of warm tea.

Five more songs in and eight more mint tea's and Jane was ready to throw on the towel. She wandered back to her office... Stood a few moments outside her door then returned to the lift. "Engineering barracks" Jane said tiredly adjusting her interment on her shoulder. She wondered if maybe she should have checked if the doctor was in... Nah she knew where she wanted to go.

Her feet carried her there automatically. She entered the barracks code given to her by Wulfgar. The door slid open and she apologies to both Mark and Jessy for her interrupting them. They waved the apology off having gotten use to her already. She had always brought them goodies and helped keep the barracks spotless. Even helped with uniform care from time to time. She was just anther part of the throng now.

Wulfgar was sleeping and she went to him and asked him softly in a whisper. "Can I stay over again?"

"Mm-hmm." Was all Jane got from Wulfgar as he slid back against the bulkhead, making room for her but never once opened his eyes.

"Thanks Wolfy." She said She went over and put her guitar in his locker and then went climbing into the bunk. She snuggled closely for extra warmth and no sooner had he draped his arm over her she was already slipping off to the land of dreams.
