Getting the Flight Controls back online

Mission: Season Two - Incidentals
Location: Bridge

LCMD Rouni was working hard since the promotion and awards ceremony. She was on the Bridge working with some engineers to get the flight controls back online and working as they should be. After 3 days the controls were back to about 90% and getting better. Still needed some work and a few others adjustment but at least the Bridge flight controls were working.

She was on the command deck at Lota Station doing what needed to be done and with the CO and XO off the ship on the station coordinating with Engineering on repairs. She was standing watch. She told the engineering personnel to take a break and rest some but to come back and see if it could be better after they rested. "Aye Commander" As they went to get something to eat and drink. She was happy that flight controls were working properly now. And waited to see what was going on next. She hit her communications badge.

=/\= Captain Kamar, Flight Controls are responding but still need a few adjustments on the Bridge. I now have full control of Pennsylvania from the Bridge at this time. =/\=

Both were sitting at a Cafe relaxing when the Captain's Commbadge bleeped.

----Iota Station Engineering Department----

=/\=Good work Commander=/\= Frank said as he released his comm badge.

Griffiths was with the Captain when the call came in, she simply raised an eyebrow in amusement.

Frank stood beside the Major and chuckled at the raised eyebrow, "You keep that up and I'll be looking for pointy Vulcan ears." He was trying to make light of a bad situation. "I hate to say it Major, but we may be in a tough spot, without some of those parts the Chief Engineer asked for."

"I can always have the doctor remove my Bajoran nose and give me pointed ears and arched eyebrows and give me supplements to turn my blood green if that will help Captain?" Griffiths asked as to tease the Captain "but I agree it is troublesome, can we contact the Talaxian's? the are traders and might know where we can at least get some of our supplies to repair things" she asked.

"We may not have a choice Major, I do like the idea though. We're supposed to be meeting with some of the other residents of Delta, I'm going to check with Security and see how their repairs are progressing," Frank replied.

Griffith's did not know what to make of the Captain's comment "I will come with" she added and followed the Captain.

---USS Pennsylvania---

Standard Port watch.

On Deck 7 Shri'Rao watched as the starbase technicians stripped out the carpeting on the entire deck as well as replaced all the opti-cable and ODN junctions boxes. She chatted with some of the techs especially learning all she could about photonic feedback loops. Anything burnt or charred was replaced with new modules. Turned out that most of the primary ODN links went through both deck 7 and deck 12. Both were needed to link the bridge with engineering and all three computer cores on the Penn. Some of the enlisted crew were in the arboretum repairing cleaning and restocking. Even the air filtration system had been improved. Shri'Rao kept watching over them all.

=/\= "I'm on deck 7 Captain repairs are proceeding nicely. Most of the main junction circuitry has been replaced. bulkheads have too. Still working on the Arboretum but we knew that would be a little longer to restore. The crew has even planted a fig tree. I believe it was crewmen Corbett who said: "A Man's entitled to a fig tree isn't he?" I didn't really understand the reference but he seemed in really good cheer. Spirits and morale are high I'd say. Did you need me to handle anything, in particular, Sir?=/\= Shri'Rao responded.

=/\= Thank you, Lieutenant, please head down and check on the engineers, they have gone quiet on me again. They get their head on a problem and forget about everything else=/\= Frank replied as he looked at his XO. "At least the electronics and some cosmetics will be fixed. It looks like we might have to do some trading or bartering for engine parts. Too bad that annoying Ferrengi wasn't still around.

"Well boys enjoy the rest of your day, I'm heading down to engineering," Shri'Rao said.

Shri'Rao got on the turbo lift and said "Engineering"

She was whisked to just about the bottom of the ship then to her aft quarter.

When she reached the engineering deck it was like a ghost town, no one was in engineering. The Matter anti-matter intermix was dark indicating it was off-line.

"Hello"? Shri'Rao said.

"Down here," a male voice said. in the Jeffries tube.

Shri'Rao walked over and climbed down she had never been inside the nacelle of the ship before. Normally she would have been fried, but there was no plasma, or antimatter being injected through the coils. She saw lots of engineers running around with calibration equipment and engineering tridents and diagnostic equipment.

"What's going on in here".? Shri'Rao asked

We are trying to find out which parts need replacing and which don't its long work though even the slightest imperfections in the manifolds and the ship could blow, or create a wormhole effect. We have to be very very careful.

"I see", Shri'Rao replied, though she didn't know a warp coil from a transducer. She understood that it was exacting work. Precision meant everything on a starship.

"Do you know where the chief engineer is?" Shri'Rao asked.

"She's out on the outer hull inspecting damaged pylon struts." The tech said.

Hmmm, so what have you heard? Any news from home?" Shri'Rao asked to hope to change the subject.

"Haven't you heard? The Catapult is down. There hasn't been any news for a week." the tech said.

"No actually I haven't heard, do you know why or what happened"?

"Well I've heard some rumours, but I think it because something happened on the other end. I don't know maybe a war."

Shri'Rao's antennae went up at that. "I hope not!" Shri'Rao replied.

She would make a point to ask the Captain about it later.

Shri'Rao walked around listening to the rumours, feeling a sense of dread arise in her.

Rouni was working with the engineers again. They were talking lowly so as not to disturb any other things going on the Bridge. So she looked at them and smiled. "Anything I can help you with?"

They said nothing really, "Just heard some rumours floating around the ship. That there is some kind of problem and the Iota Station had been attacked." I open the view screen up, see for yourselves on the screen, The stations shows nothing that we can see does it?"
