Feast - Conclusion Part 3

Frank called a meeting of his officers as soon as his Chief of Security and Chief Engineer contacted him. They had the found the culprit of not just the poisonings but of the sabotage as well. The meeting was to discuss the evidence and to make sure that justice was swiftly dealt.

James made his way I to the conference room with an extra-large coffee and a small ice pack. He looked worse for wear with bloodshot eyes. The last night at Iota station was good to him when he met up with some other musicians at one of the cantinas on deck 95 of the station. They played late and did not have to pay for drinks as other patrons bought the musicians their drinks. The morning after was taking its toll.

" Early Morning Captain." He said as he put the pack on the front of his head and sat down.

Arianna made herself a large mug of Valarian root tea while slipping into her uniform. She was fussing about having these meetings way too early in the morning, but this one was most important as they finally got the saboteur and that was making her a bit angry cause it was from her department. With tea in hand, she walked in the conference room noting James with an icebag.

"Good morning James. Have a winding of a night on the station?", she said chuckling. Sitting down next to her husband, "You and your early morning conferences. I am not even fully awake dear," Arianna said softly so's only he could hear her.

“Hello Doc, you look about as good as I feel,” Frank still felt weak only 48 hours after the poisonings. He was satisfied with his officer's exemplary performance at bringing things to a conclusion.

"I think you had it a little worse then I did Captain. James replied. "I managed to get to my quarters and out of uniform before I crashed, and I got to have the fun to go with the payback." He said and looked over to Arianna. "And to the Captain's lovely bride, yes, it was a good night. Get a bunch of musicians together and when they find that groove, you play all night....and drink all night. Lucky for me the Captain put a reminder note in the computer message since I couldn't hear the com badge."

Unlike most Officers, Naomi being a marine was up and fully awake, after freshening up she dressed and replicated a large mug of raktajino and headed to the early morning briefing. As she arrived she noted that she was only one of two who were bright-eyed and bushy-tailed "Morning everyone!" she said as she took her seat near the Captain.

"Morning Major." James nodded with a slight wince. "I'm afraid night and morning are still blurred together."



As soon as everyone had entered Frank began to speak,” Our Chief of Security is unable to attend this meeting, she is currently receiving a new briefing with security and intelligence Aboard Iota. She and Our Chief Engineer have been able to resolve this mystery. I called you each here so we can collectively decide the best course of action. Turning to his wife he said,” Lieutenant Commander Sky-Kamar, please proceed.”

Taken by surprise, Arianna got to her feet, "When we found out who the saboteur was, I could not accept it. A person from my department was the saboteur. Lt. Fitzgerald is the saboteur and to be honest, I hope she rots in hell", Arianna finished and sat down disgusted with the whole episode.

"What was her motive behind all of this? Does she have an accomplice? That was a very specific toxin she added." James asked perplexed.

Naomi looked surprised Arianna "Ambassador Frel had no real idea on who it could have been, Lieutenant Sh'veqan checked the names all came clean, so one of our own did the deed, I hope she is in the brig Lieutenant Commander?" Griffiths asked.

"I've already seen to that Major. According to Sh'veqan's report this morning, Fitzgerald did not want to see a Ferengi in the Quadrant for fear of turning exploration into profit. My suggestion is that we turn her over to the Iota Station to be sent back to the Alpha Quadrant on the next transport. She will most likely lose face court-martial and be removed from Starfleet permanently," Kamar explained.

"The sooner the better! To have someone from my department be involved in something of this magnitude......I am almost ashamed to be Chief Engineer. I should have seen it from the beginning of how she hanging around Ens. Jones. Jones, I know and he is a good engineer. Far too intelligent to risk his career for this stupidity," Arianna said angrily.

"A good spy will fit right in Commander. If she did not fit in so well, she would have been caught on the first problem or in the middle of it. Don't hold yourself accountable for this one." James said looking at the Commander after taking the icepack off his head.

"Still I should have felt something, sensed something, anything! Then maybe all this could have been avoided", she said shaking her head in dismay.

Looking around the room "I agree the officer in question should be removed from the ship" Griffiths added.

“At this point,” the Captain said, “We can consider ourselves lucky that there was no loss of life. In the future, we all, including myself need to make sure we remain vigilant. If there is nothing else, I’d like you all to enjoy some much needed time off. We will be docked at Iota for two weeks and will redeploy after New Years. Now if there is nothing else to add we will adjourn.”
