Jane knew she needed to do this. Her talk with Vespa had helped her to rebuild some of her resolve. She would have to do something special to thank her being there at that right moment and saving her from the despair that had threatend to crush her. Jane was in uniform still from when shed gone to see Wulfgar earlier today. It was late evening now she had used work to buy herself some time. Time to think about just what she was going to say. How she would explain it all with out reveling information that was not hers to disclose. But there wasa real danger here and Jane knew the Captain needed to know about it.

She looked at the door standing there drawing the curious stairs from the bridge crew on duty as she put off the inevitable. Her hand came up and hit the chime to announce her presence. She shuffled uncomfortably from foot to foot. Her heachached still the partially healed wound was surrounded by deep purple bruises and her wrist felt tight and sore in the temporary brace. The doctor had mended the bones and now it was just a matter of letting it finish healing on its own. She still didnt know what she was going to say. but she knew she had already waited far to long to do this.

Captain Kamar turned to the door expectantly after hearing the chimes,"Enter" he said as he continued to play with his unlit cigar. He stood when he saw Ensign Doe enter, "Ensign I was under the impression you had a 72 hour pass to remain off duty, due to your incident. Why are you here?"

"Yes, well avoidance tactic and guilt. I really must talk to you about something important and to be honest I am still a little confused and very unsure how to tell you. Except that i need to tell you because it might cost my friend his career if I dont." She realized she was not making any since at all. She stopped and took a few deep breaths. "Might I please request privacy sir?? Please." She knew the moment she asked that she was going to tell him everything she thought she knew about what was going on. But would he believe her? Or worse would he have her sent back to the Alfa quadrant? He would be with in his rights. SO be it if it helped Wulfgar.


"You have permission to speak freely Ensign, you had better be telling me the truth, because Lieutenant Sh'veqan has been investigating also," Frank said as he prepared to listen.

"I will only ever be honest with you sir. " Jane said a little stung at the warning and the fact he felt he needed to give it. Still this was not the time for hurt feelings "It is a long story." She said swallowing hard. "I have reason to believe that the civilian contractor known as Kyle Demonte in human resources may be a bounty hunter." 'oh yeah! he's really gonna love hearing that! idiot! and where is your proof? eh? you might as well tell him the mans the fracken Easter bunny while your at it.' She shushed her inner voice and tried not to stutter over the next words. "I think my father might be involved. He was not to proud of my running away to join a Federation star ship. Little lone one that took me far out of his reach. I know this sounds insane but I swear to you I know as a fact that Wulfgar is not the one responsible for my injury or the damages to my office. That other man Kyle it was him and you should get him off this ship as quickly as you can. Hes dangerous."

"You're telling me your father managed to get a civilian bounty hunter aboard my ship? Who the hell is your father, and how does he have that kind of connection. You know what I don't want to know. I'm going to have a talk with this guy, and if he tried to harm one of my crew members he will visit the nearest airlock. I don't have time for this kind of crap," Frank said angrily.

Jane didn't flinch in the face of his anger. In her profession you became accustom to such things. Besides his anger was justified and even expected. She was also glad he had retracted his questions about her father. She really wasnt sure just how shed be able to explain that particular can of worms. Not if she could avoid it. "Actually I do not think it was my father who sent him exactly, but I am almost sure that he had a hand in it. He may be angry with me. But I doubt he wants me dead. But thats beside the point really." She said letting out a deep breath.

"How do we proceed,Ensign?" he asked. "I will take care of the intruder, but what prevents your father from interrupting your duties as. Counselor? I was planning on promoting you and making you Chief Counselor, but if I have to worry about daddy meddling I may rethink it."

"I am already on top of that Captain. Before I volunteered for this posting I made sure a clear contract between myself and Starfleet it is very clear that I want to be here. I was meticulous in closing any loopholes that might compromise my position. So you are stuck with me until I die or you find some one better for the job." 'which is likely what almost got you killed you idiot'. Janes mind supplied the last making her flush pink. "There should be no further issues and if there are i promise to deal with them promptly so as to not cause any issues for you again Captain."

"Consider this a warning Jane, if your personal business interferes with my ship again, I will find another posting for you to go to, Is that understood?" Captain Kamar didn't wait for an acknowledgement. "Now I have to get in touch with Iota and have them send a shuttle to pick up your Father's stowaway. Do you have anything else Counselor?"

Jane shook her head then with a subdued, "No sir. " She really hoped that this was indeed the last incident. Going back to the alpha quadrant would not be good for her. Still it hurt to know she had lost the respect of the Captain. 'Suck it up. at least your still alive for now.' She waited to be dismissed her already throbbing head ached all the more as she fought back the urge to cry. She was stronger then this. She would not shame herself anymore then she already had.

"Dismissed Ensign," the captain said sternly. He sent the appropriate messages to get the shuttle from Iota to pick up the man in his brig. He had been impressed with the way Ensign Doe and Ensign Deurgar handled themselves, but now was not the time to let them know. He figured he would let them sweat it out for a couple days before he let them know everything was fine. In the mean time he had an important communique from Admiral Devane to attend to.
