Brig Visit

Mission: Survival of the fittest
Location: Brig

Frank received the notice that the new Engineer had bene placed into the brig, he decided to head down there himself and see what the boneheaded Ensign did. The man was new to the ship, if he was going to be trouble Frank wanted to know sooner rather than later. He still had time to send the Ensign back to Iota in a shuttle.

The Captain nodded to the security officer on duty as he entered the brig, "On your feet Ensign," he barked sharply.

Wulfgar was on his feet and straightened his uniform the best he could. "Sir, I can explain." He said. He had set his jaw firm, no fear upon his face but the look of a man ready to face what ever happened.

"You have one minute to explain and it better be damn good. I have half a mind to send you back to Iota on a shuttle," Frank said coursely.

Wulfgar took a deep breath and started, "Ensign Doe and I were watching films in her quarters and fell asleep. I was awoken by sounds in her office and went to investigate. Upon entering the office area, I discovered it had been thrashed. I heard her pet tribble squeak and found it crushed under the over turned table. At that time a man entered and accused me of doing the damage. I tried to talk to him but when Jane came out, she seen the dribble and started to go to it. The man grabbed Ensign Doe and injured her. When she tried to break free, he struck her and she went down. I jumped it and fought with the man to protect my shipmates and friend. When security arrived, I was still attacking him in anger. I was then escorted here and did not resist one bit." He finished the speech as fast as he could. It was the best he could do and he hoped he hadn't forgotten any details. "I'm sorry Sir, I should have alerted Security first and I should have not fought in anger but to just fondue until Security arrived." He never once looked down but looked his Captain straight in the eyes and stayed standing proud. "I'm ready for whatever you decide Sir. I assaulted someone and I accept responsibility for my actions."

Frank pinched the bridge of his nose, "A damn Tribble? So Ensign where is the man that trashed the Counselor's office that you fought?"

"As far as I know he was taken into custody as well though he might have been sent to medical first." Wulfgar answered truthfully. He had not moved since the Captain had arrived and he forced himself to unlock his knees so he didn't fall out.

Frank noticed the Ensign's discomfort, "At ease, Ensign. I know you've been spending a good bit of time off duty with the Counselor, and you were in her presence when her office was ransacked. I have half a mind to confine you to quarters. You didn't start the fight, and you were defending the Counselor. The ship's policy is to secure all combatants and then sort things out." He paused and stroked his beard, "I'm gonna let you out Ensign but you will not be standing a watch rotation and you will be confined to your quarters, Understood?"

Wulfgar relaxed slightly, just enough that he wasn't so rigid though he still stood proud. "Aye Sir. I understand." He took a deep breath. "Are there any other restrictions Sir?"

"Stay in your quarters for now, you can have visitors, but I don't want you or Ensign Doe on duty until I get to the bottom of this," Frank said sternly as he pinched the bridge of his nose, as he felt a stress headache begin to form. "Anything else Ensign?" He asked dismissively.

Wulfgar nodded. "I understand Sir and I am sorry for my misconduct. I never intended to be a problem." He said as he came to attention.

"I'm not condoning your actions Mr. Deurgar, but I believe given the circumstances, I would have done the same, but for now we need to follow policy while we sort this. I will have you escorted to your quarters." Frank said before motioning to another Ensign standing watch outside the brig.


"Aye Sir." Was all Wulfgar said as he passed the Captain and followed the security officer out of the brig and to his quarters.
