Mission: Survival of the fittest
Location: Ensigns Does Office

The lights where still dim in her bedroom when he woke up. Jane was still curled around her plush stuffed bunny rabbit, her feet resting comfortably across his lap. He thought he had heard something... Wulfgar strained his ears as he waited for the room full of shadows to come into better focus. Nothing. He checked the area where the monitor they had watched movies on last night was. He already knew though that it was off. Everything seemed in place and then he heard it. A noise in the next room. From Jane's office. It was soft almost undesernable from the ambient noise of the little water fountain. Jane stirred a little in her sleep shifting enough that the bed made a soft rustling. Then all was silent again.

Wulfgar slid from under her legs as gently as possible so as to not wake Jane. He slipped off the bed and, with a silent grace belying his size, moved across to the door where he listened.

From the door it was more distinct. Soft foot falls and russling noises.

Wulfgar looked around the room before he activated the door and as it was opening slipped through to look for the noises source. His hands were curled into fists the size of grapefruits.

The first thing he noticed were the wall hangings... Or the lack of them. Gone were the shimmering blue curtains that hid away the many various posters including the more recent poker night poster. Several of the posters had been taken down and torn and left on the floor. The pillows on the sofa had been cut or torn their stuffing was like snow mixed with debris from the tattered curtains and dirt from the plant that had been pulled roots and all from its late pot the dirt was everywhere but the plant seemed to be missing. The cage containing Jane's recently saved Tribble was also empty. Then there was a soft squeek. Weak barley aubile from near the over turned coffee table.

Wulfgar moved quickly but quietly over to the coffe table and flipped it back over as quietly as possible. He glanced around the room as he did so. When it was back upright, he looked down where it had been laying.

A tiny little puff of redbrown fluff lay surrounded by a growing pubble of blood. It gave a shuddering chitter then squeak before it stopped moving altogether. At that same moment the door to Jane's office slid open and a siloette filled the frame. It stopped seeming to look at Wulfgar as if considering him. Then a man voice said. "What in the hell is going on? Put your hands where I can see them! I'm calling security!"

"I might ask you the same thing. I was in the other room with Ensign Doe and heard noises out here. I came out to investigate and found this." Wulfgar said as he straightened up. He looked closely at the man standing in the doorway. "Who are you?" He asked.

"Don't lie! you have been discovered at the scene of the crime." The voice stated firmly.

Then the soft swish of the bedroom door opening, a soft gasp. Jane stood there her hair a mess of tangles still in her t shirt and shorts. A pair of fluffy white bunny slippers with googley eyes on her small feet. "Wh..what's happened in here?" Jane asked in shocked confusion. Her eyes swept the room. "Computer raise lighting by 40%." She looked at the man in the door a man Wulfgar had seen before in the lounge and come to think of it a few other places that he and Jane tended to hang around at.

"Jane I caught this guy red handed tearing apart your office. I was about to call security on your behalf." The man was tall around six foot but skinny. But when he moved it was immediately apparent that he was not a weak man by any standard. He was dressed in what looked like civilian clothes that had been almost hastily put on. His dark blue eyes seemed to hold an air of command and confidence. His short black hair was in perfect regulation. "I watched him step on your Tribble. He's seems to have disabled your security system it's why I came Jane I was worried about you. And it looks like I was right to do so." His eyes went accusingly to Wulfgar.

Jane looked at Wulfgar, "no he.. Wulfgar wouldn't do this." then hesitantly down tears had begun to form in the corner of her eyes. "Oh no.. Plort. Oh Plort! Wulfgar call.. the doctor!" She went to rush over to the fallen creature by was intercepted by the man. "No!" Jane cried frantically as she tried to twist away. "No! Let me go! Let me go I want to see him." She twisted and got free for a moment before hed caught her by the wrist. "Kyle! Let me go!" The man's hand tightend painfully. Jane could feel the small bones in her wrist crushing together even in her angwish. "SECURITY! SECURITY TO THE.." but she was silenced by a sudden blow across her face that left her crumpled in a heap to the floor.

Wulfgar moved faster than his large frame seem able to as his powerful legs propelled him across the room. His right fist led the way as he swung with his full weight and strength behind it. It connected squarely on th bridge of the man's nose, shattering it, blood gushed and sprayed everywhere even as Wulfgar's left came around to connect with the man's jaw. "YOU WILL NEVER TOUCH HER AGAIN!" He bellowed.

The timing could not have been more perfect on Wulgars part. Kyle had not had a chance to recover from his strike against Jane giving the engineer a upper hand he wouldn't have normally had against the man. The two blows sent him staggering backwards before he was able to draw on his training and get enough space to attack back. He aimed with deadly accuracy for the engineers stomach and ribs before swiftly moving to the side to gain some breathing space.

Wulfgar was surprised the man hadn't gone down and ended up taking the hit to his stomach but had enough time to tighten his stomach muscles to prevent any internal injuries. It hurt and he had doubled over slightly before he raised his head to stare at this man. There was something in Wulfgar's eyes that had never been there before. His face was hot and red, his pulse pounded in his ears as he straightened back up. He let out a smile as he placed himself between Kyle and Jane. He would protect her even if it cost him his life. "That all you got? That tickled." He said. His father had always told him if he ever got into a fight, not to let his anger control him. He would listen too as he pushed the anger down. He would let it fuel him but not control him.

The man known as Kyle merely smirked. He had already accomplished what he'd set out to do. This was just icingng on the cake now. He could kill him. But then he'd have no scapegoat. So he waded in and threw anther punch the engineers way just to get the big fella swinging again. He wouldn't douge the next few hits. He wanted something to work with when security came.

Wulfgar blocked the punch easily, it was like this guy wasn't really trying. He could feel the anger wanting to get the best of him and he moved to step right but instead shifted to the left, his foot coming out to kick at the man's knees, At the same time he tried to grab his arm.

Kyle moved easily with the clumsy oafs manuvers. It seemed like a crime to have to let the Wookey win. Still hazards of the trade. He dropped to the floor as his knee "buckled" from Wulgars rather painful kick. He was tempted to sweep the big man's feet out from under him but fought the urge and instead sent a quick jab to Wulfgar groin instead.

Wulfgar bit back a howl of pain and the urge to fall as the flashing pain of that last hit exploded through his abdomen. He grabbed the guys hair and rammed his own forehead into Kyle's face. With a heave he threw Kyle backwards and fell with him so that he was straddling the guy. He swung one with the right fist then with the left followed closely by the right again as he punched the guy in the head and face repeatedly.

"Open up Security" Shri'Rao said. Computer open door security access Sh'veqan 2438.

The door opened and security rushed in ohasers drawn.

"What's going on here"? said.

Wulfgar punched the guy one last time before he got heavily to his feet. He was breathing hard and his fists were covered in the man's blood, It was splattered over Wulfgar's wrinkled and torn uniform as well. "This.... This man..... Assaulted Ensign.... Doe." He pointed from Kyle to Jane, his chest heaved as he panted, trying to catch his breath. The adrenaline that had fueled his anger was wearing off and he felt light headed. His stomach and his groin has began to hurt as he started to feel the hits he had received.

"Where is Ensign Doe"? Shri'Rao asked.

Kyle was slower getting to his feet. He was so damn dizzy. He maybe should have put up a little more of a fight perhaps. He spat out a mouth full of blood and a broke bit of tooth and through swollen lips said. "He lies. I caught him in here destroying the counselors office and tried to stop him and when my friend Jane came out to see what was the matter he attacked her. I think he might have broken her wrist and she probably has a head wound where he knocked her out."

"We will see" Shri'Rao said.

Jane had begun to stir ever so slightly from her place on the floor. Her head felt as though it had exploded. She wasnt sure what was going on but she heard voices. She wished they would be quiter her head was throbbing and the talking was making her more and more aware of that throbbing and the hard press of the floor against her cheek.

=/\=Security to Medical we have a medical emergency in the counsellor's office.=/\= Shri'Rao said.

"He is the one speaking falsehoods. You may check security sensors that can tell you who was in here and when." Wulfgar said before he moved over to Jane's side and nealt down. Wulfgar said.

"That's rich." Sneared Kyle looking at the security officer through fast swelling eyes. "He cut the security sensors in this room and sent a false feedback loop to the rest of the corridor it's what got my attention to begin with by the time I got dressed and got here he was stomping the damn Tribble to death." Kyle stated.

Wulfgar looked up, banger and hate filled his eyes. I did no such thing and what is my motive for this... Atrocity!" He growled. His leg muscles tense and coiled tightly. "At what time did I do this bypass and loop feed? As all sensor logs can place me in that room," He pointed at the private quarters in the back. "Since 2200 hours." He finished.

Shri'Rao told her two security guards to take then both to the brig, but to separate them.

Wulfgar offered no resistance as he was led out of Jane's office. He looked back at Jane with concern in his eyes as he was ushered out the door and to the brig.

Then she went over to Ensign Doe. checked her vitals. She was alive at least, her wrist broken a horrible disfiguring and bloody gash down the side of her face, and pieces of her brain in her hair from a blunt force trauma. Shri'Rao did what she could to stop the flow of blood until the med techs got there.

The med techs got there and had her beamed to sickbay for emergency surgery.

Meanwhile Shri'Rao scanned the entire room found and took evidence.

The room it self gave up little in that regard. Except that it had the distinct look of a room that someone had been looking for something and when they couldn't find whatever they had been looking for they had thrashed the place.

The security features were set to private. But did in fact upon inspection kept looping back on itself leaving the office in a blind spot. This proved equally true for the features in the corridor out side her room as well. There was dirt in the hall. that when it was followed led to a tiny little plant that had been stashed away in a jeffiieries tube with obvious haste just inside the security loops affected area.

There was blood on it and what might be fingerprints or something. The dead Tribble gave the best evidence however when being collected there was flesh caught in its small teeth and DNA picked up by a forensic tricorder. Fresh as if it might have just taken a bite out of someone right before it had died. There was a chance that it was not contaminated enough by the tribbles blood to hopefully get a dna match.

Then there was a cabinet... it looked almost untouched. Except the locking panel. Some one had been trying to force the lock... They had obviously failed in their effort. The lock was unusual and not of federation design. It wasn't malicious obviously. Just a lock, but the technology was unfamiliar.
