Mission: Season Two - Incidentals
Location: Cargo bay 3

Jane wheeled into cargo bay three with her little red wagon full of snacks and drinks and things. Plus tiny goody bags for any of the guests that might arrive. She helped Wulfgar set up the table and chairs. She'd never been any good at card games really. Usually she opted for always letting whoever she played with win to avoid making them feel bad. Still it would be great fun to get to know some of the other crewmembers recreationally. "If you are done with setting up the snack table I'll get it decorated okay Wolfy?" She asked as she set the decks of cards on the table next to the colorful chips.

"Aye Jane. I'm just finishing it now." Wulfgar said as he sat the last of the food out on the table.

Vereelix entered the room, he had checked aboard the day the Pennsylvania docked at Iota Station. He had heard the scuttlebutt of an open invitation to mingle with other crew. He assumed it would give him a chance to study crew interactions, especially humans.

Wulfgar looked up as the doors opened. "Ah, welcome to the party! I'm Wulfgar and this is Jane. If you want, your welcome to give us a hand. Just ask Jane what she needs done next." He said with a grin and nodded Jane's way.

"That's me!." Jane sang out turning from hanging a blank poster on the wall to greet the newcomer. "Well hello! And welcome." He was a Talaxian. She had seen a few on the station but had never been given a chance to mingle much with any. She was truly delighted to see him there. She extended her empty hand. The one not holding a bunch of colorful markers. "I am Jane Doe I am so happy you have joined us this evening."

"Hello I am Vreelix," he said and he shook Jane's hand, "I work in science, just transferred from Iota, part of a cultural initiative. Where would be the best seat for observation of your Earth festivities? for uhh research purposes?"

"Right over there at the table with the cards. No worries your going to get hands deep into research as soon as things kick off." Jane promised pointing Vreelix to one of the six empty seats at the card table. The sound oof odd footsteps caught her attention then and she cocked her head to listen as her eyes went curiously to the door.

The sound of hoofed footsteps far preceded Frav's entrance. The Tellarite walked in, not entirely sure what to expect of his cremates. In truth he hadn't made much time to get to know anyone, he'd mostly just stuck to his work. He was trying to make a good impression on his first assignment. "What kind of meeting place is this?" He asked in true Tellarite fashion.

Jane bounded up to the new comer with excited vigor. The new comer was taller then she was, but then most people were still this one seemed a bit tall and lanky from what she knew (which was very little to nothing sad seeing as they are one of the founders of the united federation of planets) of his kind. Still he had what Jane quickly determined was possibly the most adorable nose in the galaxy and more interestingly tusks protruding from his upper jawline. Long braided black hair and a well groomed and kept beard that was also kept long rounded out the look of a rather traditional or textbook Tellarite. "Its the sort of meeting place that requires a true desire to find. Welcome and thank you for coming this evening its so wonderful for you to join us." She offered him a handshake just as she had done with her new friend Vreelix. "Have you ever played poker before?"

Grosh had learned all about handshakes from his roommate at the Academy. The Human insisted upon a handshake every time the pair greeted each other or parted ways. He shook Jane's hand. "I have never played poker. Does it involve spears or some kind of weapon?"

"No no nothing like that. It involves cards and your wits mostly. No worries we will teach you. It will be fun." Jane assured him with a smile.

Wulfgar looked up at the newest arrival, a Tellarite. He had never met one before and smiled graciously. "Welcome aboard. I take it we all just transferred onboard from the Iota? I'm Wulfgar Duergar, engineering." He said coming up next to Jane and offering both Vereelix and Grosh his hand in succession. "It's a pleasure to meet you." He said with genuine meaning to his words.

Vreelix shook Wulfgar's hand, as was the human custom and replied, "I arrived at Iota the day before the Pennsylvania pulled in, so I could be transferred aboard. Apparently the Talaxians thought it would be good to have a Talaxian onboard a Starfleet vessel."

"Well they thought right. What department are you in through the exchange?" Jane asked curiously.

"I am here on the exchange, someone from the Starbase took a science posting on a Talaxian research vessel. I am curious to taste some of your Earth cuisine. I do enjoy tasting new foods," Vereelix said.

Jane's beamed at him. "Well your in for a treat then. I have several recreational snack foods right this way." She offered. "Everyone is welcome to try some." She offered to the others before motioning for Vreelix to follow her to the snack table.

Wulfgar took a seat at the table and started shuffling the cards as he waited for those that wanted snacks had retrieved them. He had a drink sitting next to him as he watched the others though his eyes kept straying to Jane.

Jane was discribing the different snack foods. The chips, pretzels and things to both their guests. She stole a glance over at her good friend Wolf and catching his eye she smiled and then giggled as the cards he had been shuffling went scattering across the table. She quickly stiffled her mirth bitting down on her lower lip softly she averted her gaze to continue with answering questions and making suggestions to the others in a a feeble attempt to keep them from noticing. "Also before everyone leaves tonight I'd like for you to sign my poster board. Please."

Wulfgar gathered the scattered cards quickly, bowing his head to hide the redness that had formed on his face at being caught staring. He started shuffling the cards again.

Vereelix signed the poster before taking a little of each snack, he tired a few of them, they were not spicy enough for his taste so he used some special sauce, to season it. These humans would need to learn how to eat spicy foods. "May i bring a dish to the next meeting?"

"I would enjoy that very much. I am open to maybe swaping a few recipes and such when you have the time." Jane said with enthusiasm.

"Sounds good to me, now what do you use those little cards for?" Vereelix asked.

"So is there no weapons at all?" Grosh let out a low growl, disappointed that there was only a table and cards.

"The little cards are for playing poker and the weapons we will be using our our mind and our wits to win." Says Jane motioning for Grosh to come pick a seat at the table. "Winner gets dibs on whatever is put up as a bet. It will be fun I promise,. After we get the logistics of it down."
