Alone Finally As A Family

Mission: Season Two - Incidentals

Timeline: After Awards Ceremony

Arianna was still reeling from the ceremony. So much had happened during the past mission, she still had a hard time understanding what had happened and why. As for getting the award, she was only doing her job and nothing more.

"Frank, honey, can I ask you something? Why on earth did I get an award?" Arianna asked her husband, while she fixed supper.

Frank made a funny face at Hannah before becoming serious and replying, "You kept the ship together, despite us facing impossible odds. It was your Damage Control teams that provided the knowledge we needed to keep this ole girl afloat." He took his wife's hand in his before continuing, "The Major submitted the paperwork for that award herself, I did not know who she was presenting her awards to tonight. You deserve it, wear it in honor of your team and their sacrifices to keep us safe."

"Yeah but, I broke every rule in the book! I was hurt and refused to make it known. No one knew until the briefing when Charlie opened his mouth and I passed the hell out," Arianna said, setting the table finally. "Still, no one could ever understand the hell we went through during that bloody battle. I have been through hell before but that.....that was the worse yet. And considering that I nearly killed myself too! Inexcusable Frank, I know better but then I am a stubborn Klingon too," she chuckled.

"That's exactly why I love you, we're engineers, Darlin' the ship comes first, it's in our blood, we can't help it. That battle was bloody hell and I hope we don't see anything like that again, but I can't promise that. I can promise though, that no matter what happens, I'll be here for you and for Hannah. You two are everything to me," Frank said before kissing Arianna's hand.

"I have something special for desert! " Arianna said as she started to serve dinner. "Something we haven't had in a long time, "she added smiling coyly.

Frank looked up, unsure how Arianna was able to conjure up a dessert with half the ship systems offline, but he was never one to complain. Excitedly he asked," What is it? I bet it's a blood wine pie!" he said with a mischievous wink to Hannah.

Laughing, Arianna winced slightly. James said she would be a little sore for a while. "What I have in mind for desert is something you and I have barely had time for," she said smiling at her husband mischievously. Hannah looked at both curiously, "What does momma Arianna mean? papa Frank," Hannah asked.


"A nap," Frank said tiredly while pretending to yawn.

"Oh Frank, you are such an actor," Arianna laughed, as she gave the plate of meat to Frank. "You know I think Hannah needs not only a nap but a small pet," she added, dishing out some of the food for Hannah to eat. Once she gave Hannah her food, she dished out her own and food and started to eat. "I hope you like the dinner, it was not easy to do, being as how the power is not at it's best," she mentioned.

"Thank you, I can't wait to eat, I feel like I haven't eaten in days," which wasn't far from the truth. "This looks delicious." Frank began eating with his family, enjoying the peacefulness. What Kind of pet for Hannah, not one of your Klingon beasties I hope," he teased.

"No, I was thinking of maybe a kitten or puppy, something that she can take care of and giving her a reason to be responsible for it. It can teach her what it means to be responsible," Arianna said, smiling at Hannah.


"That's a great idea, why don't we ask around at Iota Station. I'm sure someone over there has some pets. I didn't tour the whole facility last time we were there maybe they have a pet shop." Frank finished his meal and leaned back contentedly, "Thank you for dinner, I look forward to our time together everyday."

"As do I my husband....as do I! Maybe you should put Hannah to bed while I finish up here. Then we can relax more......intimately," she said wickedly. Grinning like a Cheshire cat.

Frank winked at his wife and scooped up Hannah, "Let's go to bed you little gremlin, " he teased as the little girl giggled.
