Frank watched the screen as it indicated the Away Team approaching the objective, the team went radio silent as they landed and moved into a scout. As he sat he pondered the odd readings they had found and was curious about what would be found. He had trusted Lieutenant Rouni to fly the team down and join them. Was sending a new Officer wise? He wondered but with a shake of his head he knew what was done was done and what mattered was now. He pressed the icons button,” Department Heads, report status.” He waited for the team members or their assistants to check-in.

=/\= Sickbay reporting in. We are on hot standby and ready.=/\= Came the call from the doctor.

~ (Planet-side) Saffiya listened to the comms chatter from the Bridge of the Penn though, she decided, as yet, not to make a report as she was not the senior officer on the Away Team or, for that matter, a Department Head. She bided her time until there was something concrete to report to the CO.

=/\=Sh'veqan to Pennsylvania, we have landed safely sensors have picked up the remnants of the ship about 2.5 kilometers from our present location we are moving to investigate. t=/\=

=/\=Pennsylvania to Sh’veqan, Landing confirmed, proceed to coordinates.=/\= Frank replied to his Security Chief.

=/\=Understood and acknowledged Sir. Sh'veqan out. =/\=Shri'Rao replied.

Major Griffith's was walking around the bridge stopping occasionally to look at the stations if she was putting the crew on edge that was a good thing, it was better they were alert and ready for anything, she did pause longer to look over the tactical station she had done it with other officers as each one had a slight difference in how they did it, also she was learning on the fly. She had no doubt that most of the crew wondered why there was a Marine First Officer, she could handle that, but a marine who did not have at least a familiar working knowledge of most of the stations was not a worthy First Officer, her crash course at the Academy had taught her that Fleet Officers did things different from the Marines and that was one of the reasons she was learning things on the job.

=/\= Engineering here, all good and green sir=/\= came the reply from Lt. Jackson, Arianna's assistant.

Naomi was happy that things were running smoothly, considering all the new faces the crew had begun to become a cohesive unit, this always bodes well.

M'Relar was on the bridge walking around to make sure everyone was ok, as she went to the tactical department.

[Crash site, planetside]

=/\=Hadat reporting to the Penn, we have made contact with survivors please advise on further action =/\= Saffiya tapped her comms badge {OOC: continued Away Team Mystery JP).

=/\=Away Team, please verify survivors are in good health and are willing to allow us to return with the doc and engineer to retrieve ship logs and inspect their people. =/\= Captain Kamar replied from his chair.

=/\= Arianna to Captain, I can retrieve ships logs, but the ratio of adults to children is 10 to 1. There are not many adults visible only several children.=/\= she replied, and stepped out into plain view.

[Bridge]

=/\=Thanks Lieutenant Commander, Head on back to shuttle and return to the ship, we need to figure out what happened. =/\=. Captain Kamar replied before turning to see if the Major heard the last transmission.

“Ok Major, and Chief any theories?” Frank asked his first officer and his Chief of the Boat.

Naomi was stopped from responding, by the next report.

=/\=Lt Sh'Veqan to Pennsylvania, I've been talking to one of the children here. Apparently the Kazon have abducted most of the adults for an as yet an unknown purpose, The child indicated that there are a few adults hiding in the caves near a rockface about a 1/4 click away. Keep a sharp look for any approaching ships or ships that may be hiding in the magnetic poles. I am going to try to contact the adults. Orders?=/\=

"YELLOW ALERT!" Griffiths said then looked at the Captain as she responded "If the Kazon are involved and the species are from Federation member worlds and they know of Space travel then the Prime Directive does not apply, but we also need to get those adults back, but we also need to get those children and the surviving adults back up to the ship for medical treatment and such. But I am not liking this one little bit Captain we need to be alert" she said, "Captain after things are settled down, could I have a word with you in private please?" Griffiths asked.

“Yes Major, in the meantime, I want all crew back here ASAP, where are the shuttle and the away team, I don’t want to be caught flat-footed here,” Frank responded quickly.

=/\= Understood Captain, returning to the shuttle =/\=

Grumbling to herself, "I have not had this feeling since the waning days of the Dominion War" Griffiths said.

Kamar heard the Major grumble but didn’t quite make out what she said, “Major, let’s step up our scanning and maintain a yellow alert, we need to make sure the civilians are safe down there and figure out what to do next.”

Elsewhere...

Rouni changed pace when she heard about the Kazons being here and kidnapping the adults. She smiled as she listened. And tapped her commbadge. "Captain, I think I may be able to help with finding the adults in hiding. As best as I can make out the cave is at this location. and it is near where we left the shuttle" she said.

On the bridge, Griffith's looked at Kamar "The Kazon! Oh great" she said and put the QRT on alert, just in case the Kazon attacked and boarded them.

Ens K'relar was still on the bridge at the tactical station, looking at the bridge crew as usual while at her station doing the Tactical thing.

“Keep your eyes peeled Ensign, I’m headed to my ready room to review some of the retrieved data, Major will you follow me please?” Frank stood and left the bridge.

"yes Captain" Naomi said and looked around "get the QRT on alert," she said as she followed the Captain.
