Captain Kamar was finished an inspection in engineering, when he received a notice on his PADD that the Operations Ensign had arrived. After his Chief Operations Officer transferred off, Frank requested another Ensign be assigned to the Pennsylvania. He hoped that by adding a little competition he could motivate both Ensigns and see which one developed into the Chief's roles and duties. He decided to go see the Ensign instead of making him check in formerly. Most of the crew was on shore leave already and the ship's atmosphere was pretty relaxed. He was hoping to get through the meeting quickly to allow the young Ensign the chance to meet some of his peers on the beaches of the planet below.

Simon had not long made it passed the Security officer at the Airlock as he was fresh out of the academy and this his first posting, a Nebulas Class vessel one that housed 170 Officers and 610 Enlisted, as he recalled from memory it was also the counterpart of the much larger Galaxy Class Vessel, he knew that his first port of call was to meet his new commanding officer then the CMO to do his physical and then the Quartermaster to get his quarters. but he knew that he would have to check in with the Operations chief as well to get his duty assignments including his shift rota.

Although he had parted ways from his friend Maria McMahon, he knew that she had been assigned to her own vessel, he thought it best that he let her know that he had arrived safe, after all she had started to worry about him, but he had guessed that she had taken a shine to him and had fallen for him, however; she did not show it when they had parted ways. as he continued to walk along the deserted corridor Simon knew that he had to learn the layout of the ship so that he knew his way around it, he tapped onto the wall console and asked, "Computer, show me the quickest route to the Quartermasters office,"

"Working," came the soft voice of the ship's computer, as an arrow lit up for him to follow, Simon thought to himself oO Well, let's get myself settled then, Oo as he started to walk down the corridor, as he did so, he had been watching the green arrow and following its directions when he bumped into someone, he said, "Sorry Sir, I didn't see you," as he hadn't been watching where he was going

Captain Kamar pretended to be upset barely concealing a smirk,”Ensign what’s the hurry?”

" sir, I am looking for the quartermaster to get my quarters assigned," replied Simon as he noticed the rank pips on the collar of the officer before him, he continued, "then I was going to report in to you Sir," as he put his bag down on to the floor and began to fish out the PADD that held his transfer orders. He finished, " I'm Ensign Simon Hunter your new Assistant chief of Operations,"

“Welcome Aboard Ensign Hunter, I trust your journey was uneventful,” Frank said as he shook the young man’s hand. “It’s nice to meet you sir.”

"Well sir, the journey itself was uneventful to say the least " he said looking back at his new commanding officer, he continued, "until we got held up at the catapult," as he knew that he had made it in time before the ship departed for its next mission. but he also knew that he had to learn the layout of this ship fast.

“It was interesting for us, we were attacked by Hirogen after our arrival, nasty business. Anyhow, welcome to the Pennsylvania, as the Assistant Chief of Operations, I’ll need you to report to me tomorrow afternoon in the Observation Lounge. Do you have any questions or concerns?” Frank asked the young man.

"Not at the moment Sir, I am on my way to meet the Quartermaster to get my assigned Quarters and then head to medical for my coming aboard check-up," replied Simon as he knew that he had held the Captain up long enough and that he still hadn't got to where he was going, He finished," May I be excused Sir?"

“Absolutely, Ensign, you get settled in and we will talk more tomorrow,” Frank replied as he walked down the passage way.
