Mission:
Discovery
Location: USS Pennsylvania
You can't run from your past. That is a saying that many people live by. Sinn on the other hand has kind been trying to do that just that for many years. He was blessed when he was saved from his captures in the cave during the war. He was also blessed when Starfleet accepted him into the fold even though he was considered by some to be the enemy or at least used to be. Now for over a decade he has been on the other side of the Federation help with gathering intelligence and keeping an eye on the Klingons. Even a whole quadrant away from the Union, from the war his past would still creep up from time to time.
Now he was getting what he hoped was a legit new start he had been transferred to the Delta Quadrant area of operations. With the creation of the Catapult there was a new push to explore and if you were being honest expand the influence of the Federation. When new doors open you need to find out what lay behind that door and that is where Sinn and his skill set come into play. He was excited for this fresh start and the fact that he was thousands of light years away from Cardassia Prime.
He fixed his uniform as he made his way onto the bridge of the Pennsylvania. He was headed to meet his new CO and see his reaction to having a 'shovelhead' under his command. He took a deep breath as he pressed the chime on the door.
Captain Kamar had just finished the early watch and sat down in his favorite chair. The lights in the Ready Room were low, as he listened to some soft acoustic music. He had reports due soon, but he wanted to a little time to enjoy some peace and quiet. The 15 minutes of solitude was short lived when the chime sounded through the stillness. "Computer lights," he said as he stood and straightened his uniform, "Enter," he said before ordering a black coffee from the replicator. He paused for a moment as he saw watched the man enter.
"Welcome Aboard, Lieutenant, come in and have a seat, would you like a drink?"
Sinn made his way in as instructed. "Thank you, Sir. I would love some warm Ocenaleaf tea please." He said as he moved towards the chair that was offered. Sinn took this time to look over the decor of the office as it was the first bit of information he could gather on his new boss. Once he was offered the drink both men sat.
Frank quickly replicated the drink and sat down in the chair across from Sinn. “Welcome to the USS Pennsylvania, Lieutenant. Have you had a chance to find your quarters and get settled in yet? A new ship can be confusing sometimes, especially at my age.”
Sinn took the offered drink and took a sip before answering. "This is a fair replication." He said putting the drink down. "Yes I have found my room but have not been to my office yet. Does this ship have a full SCIF or just general office space?"
“We have a small SCIF, currently only the XO, myself and Chief of Security are cleared for full access and now yourself. As you know access remains tight.” Frank replied
"That sounds very acceptable. Any idea what my crew allotment will be?" Sinn was eager to get started.
“You will be slotted to have an Ensign and ten enlisted analysts. A couple are being moved from security and the others are coming from the Iota Station. We are basically adding this department to the Pennsylvania because we are the flagship. You are the lucky one to get to set the tone of the new department”
With a nod of gratitude Sinn smiled. "I will aim to do you and them task force proud." He trailed over before continuing. "I also wanted to make sure there where no known issues with my background and all I like to be upfront about it as it can and has caused friction in my past."
“There are no issues with your background. You have passed all necessary security protocols put forth by Starfleet, as long as you perform your duties there will be no issues from me. If there is any flack due to your race or background I will handle it personally.”
"I appreciate that, Sir. I am a firm believer in open honest communications. I plan to get down to the SCIF and start working on seeing just what kind of intel is out there. Do you have anything else for me?" Sinn inquired.
“Nothing else for now Lieutenant Rintan. I will see you at the Department Head meeting tomorrow morning. Use today to learn your way around your workspace as well as checking in with the First Officer and Medical.”
With that Sinn stood and the two shook hands. He was checked in and now to start this new post on the right foot.
